This Privacy Policy applies to Progressify's (We, Us, Our) SchoolTalk website and SchoolTalk web application (together, the Site) and should be read in conjunction with the Site's Terms of Use also noted on the Site. By viewing and using this Site you will be deemed to agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please stop using the Site. All capitalised terms that are used but not defined in this Privacy Policy will have the meaning given to them in the Terms of Use.
1. Collection of Information

We may gather information about you from the Site or directly from your School, Administrator and/or Parent (whichever is applicable). There are two types of information that we may gather:
Personal information provided by you, which includes, but is not limited to, your name, birthday, address, e-mail address, phone number, and any other personal information that you voluntarily give to us.
Aggregate technical information automatically generated by our systems, which track traffic to the Site, which includes, but is not limited to, the IP address used to connect your computer to the Internet, operating systems and platforms, pages you viewed or searched for, page response times, download errors, length of visits on certain pages, page interaction information, and any other such technical information relating to your use of the Site.
1.2 Necessity of Personal Information
Failure to provide necessary personal information when requested may result in certain services on the Site not being available to you.

Any information that we gather about you if such disclosure is strictly necessary to provide you with the services offered by the Site.
Aggregate tracking information and other information that does not personally identify you.
Your personal information when we believe in good faith that we are required to do so by law.

We do not sell or rent your personal data. However, we may share personal data with trusted third-party service providers acting on our behalf for specific processing activities, as outlined in Section 9. Each third-party service provider is contractually obligated to process personal data only in accordance with our instructions and applicable data protection laws.

To verify your identity and assist you if you forget your password or login details for the Site.
To assist in providing the Site and its services to you.
To ensure you are using the Site safely and for its intended purpose.

If you are a Learner, information may be collected on the Site to help you, your School, Administrator and/or Parent to:
Ensure you are meeting curriculum requirements.
Record and maintain student records of academic progress.
Report to Parents.
Maintain the school-home partnership.
Celebrate/record achievements and success in learning.
Enable learning management programmes.
4.Cookies and Tracking
4.1 Use of Cookies
We may use a "cookie" file containing information that can identify the computer you are working from. The cookie file is anonymous as it only gives us details of your IP address, the platform you are using, browser (e.g. Google Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge or other, plus the version of browser) and domain (whether you are accessing the Site from New Zealand or elsewhere).
4.2 Purpose of Cookies
We may use the information generated by cookies to:
Track traffic patterns to and from the Site.
Ensure any content (which may include any advertising) is being shown to the most appropriate person.
Enable you to enter the Site and use certain services as a member without having to log on each time and to visit registered user only areas of the Site.

9.Third Party Service Providers
To provide and maintain our web application’s services, we engage third-party service providers who process personal data on our behalf. We ensure all such providers adhere to strict privacy and security standards.
Hosting and Data Processing
SchoolTalk is hosted on Microsoft Azure, which serves as our primary data processor. Azure provides the infrastructure and computing resources required to operate the application. SchoolTalk is hosted within Azure's southeast and eastern Australian servers. Microsoft Azure processes data on our behalf following industry-leading security, compliance, and privacy practices.
Email Communication
SendGrid (a service provided by Twilio) is used as a subprocessor for handling all email communications, including:
User invitations
School reports
Notifications
SendGrid processes the email addresses and message content necessary to provide these communication services.
Data Security and Compliance
Both Microsoft Azure and SendGrid implement robust security measures and comply with major data protection regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable. We maintain Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) with these providers to ensure the safeguarding of your personal data.
